Design Project - Day 1

Define Phase:

1.  The game will be focused on the age groups of elementary school students, and for both genders to play.
2. The difficulty of the game will be easy as it is focused towards the children.
3. A game will be made successful if it has levels, gives points, if it requires luck, has a teaser, and gives tickets that can be redeemed for prizes.
Research Phase:
1. Sammy's Game: This game was very simple and understandable which made it easy for new customers to understand how it would work, and it had a little challenge to it with the blockers at both sides of the goal. In my opinion the game could be added with another level after the level where he throws the ball inside goal so it could have a little bit more of a challenge.
2. Caine's Labryinth: In my opinion the game was a very original game because of how it could be controlled by the normal hand when many games like these are usually made on mechanical gadgets as apps. The game could be improved by perhaps making the labryinth itself a bit clean so people can actually see the difference in the maze because currently it is made out of different boxes which make it hard for some to view the labryinth from different angles.
3. Caine's Ticket Grab: The game was a very creative game in a way because it was literally a tight space where the customers could have all the fun and excitement that they needed. Overall it was a very good game but can be improved in many ways by perhaps tightening the door so the tickets wouldn't fly out of the little booth, yet everything is very creative in many ways which makes it a good game generally.
Ideation Phase:
Paper Rain

Ideas:
  • Very Convenient and easy to use. It has different paper balls with different numbers on them that can be counted at the end of the game to be redeemed as prizes.
  • Players stand on top of a bucket that will hold all the tickets and make it easier for them to put the tickets back on top of the booth.
Negative:
  • The game could go wrong with children being different sizes. The Paper Rain Booth can be made considering the size of even big children for them to fit.
  • The game might be too easy for children to play due to the size of paper balls. The balls can be made in various sizes so the game can go from easier to harder.
